
When you get in touch, you'll be offered a free initial call. This is a chance to talk through what's been going on for you, what you're hoping for and any preferences you might have.
You don't need to have the 'right words' - I'll help guide the conversation so we can understand what support will feel most helpful for you.
It's very common to feel nervous before a first session.
You'll be sent clear directions to the therapy rooms ahead of your appointment. Each location has a waiting area, where you can arrive, sit down, take a moment before your session and help yourself to refreshments.
I will come and collect you at the time of your appointment.
In the session, we'll go at your pace. You won't be expected to share everything straight away - I'll help guide the conversation so it feels manageable.
Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes.
In early sessions I will spend time getting to know you and understanding the experiences that have shaped your life. In a sense, I am 'catching up' with your story.
Therapy is confidential and you can share as much or as a little a you feel comfortable with. There is no pressure to 'get it right' and you will be guided in this process.
Over time, therapy helps you make sense of patterns, emotions and experiences, and begin to respond to them differently.
Therapy can take different directions depending on what you're bringing and what feels most helpful for you.
Some sessions may be more reflective and conversational, helping you make sense of your experiences and patterns. Others may be more structured and focused towards specific goals.
Therapy may involve exploring past experiences, working with patterns that keep you feeling stuck, learning ways to regulate different emotions, or developing a different relationship with your thoughts and feelings.
I will always explain what we are doing and why, so you feel informed and involved in the process.
